Russia – Export Import Russia is the
16th largest export economy in the world.
Russia imported US$182.3 billion
worth of goods from around the globe in 2016, up by 6.7% since 2009 but down by
-0.3% from 2015 to 2016. Russia’s top 10 imports accounted for almost
three-fifths (59.2%) of the overall value of its product purchases from other
countries. Russian imports represent 1.1% of total global imports which totaled
$16.473 trillion one year earlier in 2015. From a continental perspective, 48%
of Russia’s total imports by value in 2016 were purchased from other European
countries. Asian trade partners generated 40% of import sales to Russia while
6.8% worth originated from North America. Another 3.4% came from Latin America
(excluding Mexico) and the Caribbean.
